You, your and reader mean any person accessing the site. We, us and our mean VeryCosy.com, the publication at https://verycosy.com. The site means every page, review, image, category archive and feature published under that address.
What this site is
VeryCosy.com publishes editorial reviews of home comfort gear and pet gear. It does not sell anything, hold stock, take payments, ship goods or handle returns. Where a product page links to a retailer, buying is a transaction between you and that retailer under their terms, and any question of price, availability, delivery, warranty, refund or fault belongs with them.
Reviews are compiled from manufacturer specifications, retailer listing data and published owner feedback. We do not buy, test or physically handle the products described. Nothing on the site is a report of personal use, an inspection, a certification or a laboratory result. The commercial arrangement behind the links is described on our affiliate disclosure page.
Accuracy of information
Retail listing data changes without notice and is frequently wrong at source. Manufacturers revise models while keeping the same name. Dimensions, weights, capacities, materials, contents and compatibility figures quoted here are taken from those sources and may be out of date, incomplete or self contradictory by the time you read them. Where we can see a contradiction we say so; we cannot catch all of them.

TV wall mounts, ceiling mounts and TV stands
Every mount has a maximum weight rating and a set of VESA hole patterns it fits. Both have to match your television, and a screen size in inches is not on its own enough to tell you a mount will work. A mount used beyond its rated weight, fitted to a screen whose mounting pattern it does not match, or fixed to a wall that cannot carry the load, can fail. When a mount fails a television falls, and a falling television injures people, particularly children.
- Check the actual weight of your television and the actual VESA pattern on its back against the mount specification before buying.
- Fix into structural studs or into solid masonry with the correct fixings for that material. Plasterboard, lath and plaster, or hollow paneling on its own will not hold a television, whatever anchor is used.
- Use the hardware supplied by the manufacturer and follow the manufacturer instructions exactly. Substituted bolts of the wrong length or grade are a common cause of failure.
- Full motion and cantilever arms put far greater leverage on the wall than a flat bracket. Rate them accordingly.
- If you are not certain what is behind your wall, or the wall is not sound, use a qualified installer. This is inexpensive compared with the alternative.
The same applies to television stands and entertainment centers. A stand has a stated top load and a stated footprint; a screen wider or heavier than the stand was designed for is a tipping hazard.
Furniture, chairs, tables and shelving
Chairs, barstools, folding chairs, gliders and bean bags carry a stated weight capacity, and folding tables and desks carry a stated load. Those figures assume correct assembly, even distribution and a level floor. Exceeding them, standing on furniture that was not designed to be stood on, or leaving fixings loose can lead to collapse and injury.
Tall and narrow units, shelving and any piece a child could climb are a tip over risk. Anchor them to the wall with a proper restraint kit, keep heavy items on lower shelves, and check the fixings periodically because they loosen with use. Where a manufacturer supplies an anti tip strap, fit it. Assembly instructions and torque guidance from the manufacturer govern over anything written here.
Bark deterrents, bark collars and electronic training collars
These devices emit a sound, a vibration, a spray or an electrical stimulus in response to a trigger. That is what they do. Whether a given dog changes its behavior in response is a separate question, and the published owner feedback on this whole product class is openly divided: plenty of owners report a change, plenty report none at all, and a device that works on one dog in one household does nothing in the next. - Legal restrictions. Electronic and shock collars are restricted, licensed or banned outright in some countries, states and regions, and are discouraged by a number of veterinary and animal welfare bodies. It is your responsibility to check what is lawful where you live before buying or using one.
- Fit and introduction. Manufacturers direct users to fit contact points correctly, to limit continuous wear, to check the neck for irritation and to introduce the device gradually at the lowest setting. Follow those instructions, not a summary of them.
- Unsuitable cases. These devices are not appropriate for every animal. Barking driven by fear, pain, separation distress or a medical problem is not solved by a correction, and suppressing the symptom can make the underlying problem worse.
- Ultrasonic range claims. Coverage distances quoted on listings are measured in open space. Walls, glass, fences and weather reduce them, and the figures are rarely independently verified.

Dog treats and chews
Our treat archive is titled Cookies, Biscuits and Snacks because that is the retailer category label. Everything in it is a dog treat and none of it is food for people.
- Supervise. Any chew, bully stick, bone, pig ear, jerky strip or dental chew should be given with a person present. Take it away once it is small enough to swallow whole.
- Choking and blockage. Chews are a genuine choking hazard and swallowed pieces can cause an intestinal obstruction. Hard chews can also fracture teeth. If a dog gags, retches, refuses food or vomits after a chew, that is a vet visit.
- Size appropriate. Match the treat to the size and chewing strength of the dog. A treat sized for a small breed is a swallowing risk for a large one.
- Treats are not a diet. They are a supplement to complete food, not a replacement for it. Follow the feeding guidance on the package and account for the calories.
- Introduce gradually. New proteins and new chews can upset digestion. Dogs with allergies, pancreatitis, dental disease or any ongoing condition should only be given a new treat on a vet's advice.
- Health claims. Where a review mentions dental, joint, calming or digestive benefits, that is the product label speaking and it is attributed as such. We make no independent health claim, and a treat is not a medicine.
