Every one of those is a clear line of sight figure measured in open ground. Radio at these frequencies is degraded by buildings, terrain, dense woodland and even by the dog putting a hill between itself and the handset. Real working range in a suburban garden with a house in the way will be a fraction of the rating. Buying on range alone is the most common way to overpay for a specification that never applies in the place you use it.

Stimulation scales are not comparable

None of those scales are defined in any shared unit. Level 30 on a 99 step dial has no fixed relationship to level 8 on a 21 step dial, and neither is published as a measured output. Manufacturers direct owners to start at the lowest setting and increase only until the dog shows a mild recognition response, which is exactly why a wide dial is presented as an advantage. Treat the scale as a manufacturer specific relative control, not as a measurement.

Tone and vibration as separate tools

Most collars here offer a tone and a vibration mode alongside anything else. The FieldTrainer listing states vibration and tone options as alternative methods. The Garmin Sport PRO listing states support for up to three dogs from one handset plus a built in bark limiter function on the collar itself.

If you are not certain you need a static function, buying a unit that does not have one removes a decision you would otherwise have to keep making correctly every single time.

Whether the handset shares the rating is a separate question and is often not stated. A collar receiver that survives a lake and a transmitter that does not survive rain is a common and frustrating combination, so look for the rating to be quoted for both parts.

Battery, charging and what runs out first

The SD-825X listing states rechargeable lithium ion batteries giving 50 to 70 hours per charge. The PaiPaitek listing states dual charging cables and long battery life without a figure. Two components need charging, the collar and the handset, and they rarely run down at the same rate. Check whether the unit can charge both at once, because a handset that dies mid session leaves a dog wearing a receiver that no longer does anything.

Fit, wear time and skin

The contact points must reach the skin, which means the same fitting discipline as any bark collar. Snug but not tight, checked daily, and repositioned rather than left in one place. Manufacturers commonly cap continuous wear at a number of hours per day and direct owners to remove the collar overnight. Pressure necrosis from a collar left on too tight for too long is a documented risk and is entirely preventable by following those instructions.
