Among the hundreds of television brackets sold online, very few name a safety standard. Mounting Dream states that this one is UL listed, and whatever else is true about the MD2268-LK, that single line changes how much of the rest of the listing can be taken at face value. It is the reason this bracket keeps appearing in recommendations that have nothing to do with its price.

The specification, as published: 37 to 75 inch screens, a stated loading capacity of 132 pounds, a maximum VESA pattern of 600 by 400 millimetres, and support for 16, 18 and 24 inch wood stud spacings. It is a low profile design sitting 1.5 inches closer to the wall than a standard bracket, with forward tilt of up to 8 degrees. The bracket measures 17.6 by 9.2 by 3 inches and weighs 5.68 pounds. Installation is described as three steps with a level included.

What a stated UL listing does and does not mean

UL listing means a sample of the product was submitted to an independent laboratory and tested against a published standard, and that the manufacturer maintains that listing. For a wall bracket that testing covers static load and safety factor, which is precisely what a buyer cannot assess by looking at photographs of a steel plate.

Run and connect every cable you might ever want before the screen goes up, and consider a right angle adapter for anything rear facing. Somewhere for the boxes to live is the matching problem, and a wall shelf or a low unit under a flush mounted screen keeps them off the floor without spoiling the line.
